The Vice-Chancellor's decision: we will switch to distance teaching


Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson has decided that all teaching and assessment at Uppsala University will be carried out remotely, effective tomorrow, Wednesday.

This morning the Swedish Government announced that they recommend all universities and upper secondary schools to switch to remote learning in order to minimize spreading of the coronavirus.

Early afternoon, the Vice-Chancellor of Uppsala University, Eva Åkesson, gave her answer to the recommendations. Her decision, after consultation with the Management Council, is to go with the Government’s recommendation, which means that Uppsala University, starting tomorrow, Wednesday March 18, will carry out teaching and assessments remotely.
