Have you fantasised about ghouls haunting Carolina Rediviva at night? Is there a 50 year old murder mystery rumour going around your nation? Are you starting to suspect that your essay supervisor is in fact a walking dead just waiting for the right moment to devour your brain? Put it on paper!

We want your entries for Ergo’s short story contest 2017. This year’s theme is horror. Send in your submission for your chance to win a 2 000 kronor gift voucher at the Student Book Shop (Studentbokhandeln). The winning short story will be published in the first issue of Ergo this upcoming fall. Email you entry to cred@ergo.us.uu.se by 7th of August the latest. Write “Short story contest” as the subject.

Rules:
– The contestant must be an Uppsala student.
– The entry must be written in English or Swedish.
– The entry must be between 5 000 and 10 000 characters long, including blanks (spaces).
– The entry must not have been published in any other medium previous to the competition, including, for example, private blogs.
– Only one author per entry is allowed.
– The short story should take place in Uppsala and written in the style of the horror, thriller or crime story genre.
